Meursault Les Gruyaches

Fruit from a small 0.28ha parcel within Les Gruyaches, just below Les Charmes 1er Cru. Vines average 80+ years, the oldest of Jean Philippe’s holdings, planted on the lower parts of the slope. Soils are with a limestone subsoil. Natural ferment in older oak barrels and also aged in barrel for 12 months, 10% new. Usually, one of the richest and fullest of the lieux-dits, sharing the common focus of minerality and length in his wines.

Tasting Note: Aromas of pear, lemon, apple, and yellow plum with hints of honey, white flower, stone mineral, and ginger on the nose. Rich with beautiful vibrancy and depth on the palate with a juicy core of lemon and apple notes, crisp acidity, mineral on the mid-palate, finessed and refined, great length on a chalky finish.
