Meursault Les Narvaux

2017 - Warm spring with frost mostly avoided. Hot/warm weather for spring and summer leading to an early harvest. Picking dates are essential due to the risk of rain. A plentiful harvest.

Fruit from 3 parcels totalling 1.31ha within Les Narvaux-Dessous, just above 1er Cru Genevrières, where soils are of clay/limestone with an extremely hard subsoil of white rock riddled with fissures allowing roots to go deep. Vines average 40-70 years growing on a steady 20% slope facing south. Vinified and matured 12 months in oak, with some new barrel use.

Tasting Note: 2019 - Aromas of apple, peach, lemon curd, and apricot with hints of white blossom, honey, flint, hazelnut, and vanilla on the nose. Rich with a creamy texture on the palate, a core of citrus/orchard fruit layered with mineral notes, fresh acidity, very finessed and refined, and long length on the finish.
