Meursault Perrières 1er Cru

Mersault-Perrie%CC%80res-R.jpg

Fruit from 2 parcels totalling 0.5ha within Les Perrières, one being on clay/limestone soil with volcanic rock and the other higher on the slope with soils heavy in limestone. Vines range from 12-28 years of age. Indigenous yeast ferment and matured for 12 months in oak barrels, with some being new.

Tasting Note: 2019 - Aromas of ripe orchard fruits, notably of green apple and yellow pears with hints of white flower, honeysuckle, and citrus zest on the nose. Medium-bodied and lovely richness on the palate with a ripe fruit core layered with oak spice, fresh acidity, an amazing silky texture, and good length on a mineral finish.

2020 - “Clear pale colour. Impressive weight of fruit on the nose, slow to reveal but having what it takes. Each separate stage of this wine follows as it should, with a classic mineral thread inside the wealth of fruit at the back of the palate. Properly ripe but not heavy.” - Jasper Morris 93-96pts
