Barbaresco Martinenga Gaiun

2006 - Nebbiolo from the 2.3ha Gain parcel, a south-facing section on the western side of the Martinenga vineyard, a top cru of Barbaresco. Vines range from 35-40 years, growing on soils of blue marl and limestone. Aged in French barrique usually one-third 1st year, one-third 2nd year, and one-third 3rd year for 28 months, with further bottle ageing before release. Considered a bit more fruit-driven and supple of the Barbaresco’s produced. Only produced in favourable vintages.

Tasting Note: 2006 - Aromas of raspberry, black cherry, plum with violets, liquorice, vanilla, earth on the nose. Rich, supple, and round with exceptional balance on the palate, red/black fruit and some tertiary notes, very complex and layered, fine-grained tannin, a lengthy and ever-changing finish.

2016 - Coming Soon.
