Weingut Gschweicher is a family-owned winery in the village of Röschitz, an area with many small hills in the northwest of Weinviertel DAC. Bernhard & Herta Gschweicher manages 14ha of vines with many grown on “primary rock” (crystalline rock, containing no organic remains and have never been constituents of previously formed rocks) and loess soils. White wine specialists with most of the plantings being old vine Grüner Veltliner that have an average of 50+ years of age and some up to 80+ years, their principles to the style of wines produced are to find the balance between healthy vines and the living soil. Exceptional wines of quality and value have led the winery to be granted numerous awards.
