Domaine Dupré-Goujon

Saint Lager, Côte de Brouilly

Friends since school days, Sébastien Dupré and Guillaume Goujon began their domaine in 2012 after obtaining degrees in oenology and completing apprenticeships at highly regarded estates in France. Working primarily in Côte de Brouilly, their soils are mostly composed of the infamous "Roche Bleu" which is an ancient volcanic rock that developed while Mt Brouilly was submerged in the ocean. Due to the geographic and geological complexities of this region, it was named one of UNESCO's Geoparks. With respect for this unique terroir, they are certified organic and farm biodynamically with a particular focus on agroecology. Vinification follows the traditional Beaujolais method of semi-carbonic maceration for the red cuvées and aged for a period in demi-muids. Each plot is vinified separately in order to achieve the purest expression of terroir. The wines are finished in tank for at least 6 months before bottling. All wines are fermented with wild yeast and no SO2 is added until bottling.
