Nuits Saint Georges Villages

Pinot Noir fruit from 50+-year-old vines in a parcel within the lieu-dit Aux Communes, just next to the 1er Cru Clos des Réas. Though not owned by Domaine Arlaud, the technical manages all the work involved (pruning, growing, harvesting, etc) and is farmed biodynamically. Hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in oak barrels (15% new oak) for 14-18 months. Production is small at just over 4000 bottles.

Tasting Note: 2019 - Aromas of dark cherry, cranberry, and strawberry with hints of cinnamon, oak spice, forest floor, and smoke on the nose. Slight reduction up front with deep dark cherry and berry fruit underneath on the palate, mid – full-bodied, tightly wound, fine youthful tannin, floral on the finish. Will need some time in the cellar.
