Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts 1er Cru
Fruit from vines of 60+ years of age from a partner grower but farmed fully biodynamically by the Domaine Arlaud team. This is a tiny 0.1ha parcel within Les Petits Monts 1er Cru (just next to Richebourg GC) in Vosne Romanée. Natural fermentation with aging of 14-18 months in oak (up to 25% new, but vintage dependant). Very limited production (662 bottles produced).
Tasting Note: 2017 - Fresh red & black fruit upfront with hints of black tea. Medium-bodied and lovely cassis and redcurrant fruit on the palate with mineral notes on the dusty, drying finish.
2018 - Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, and plum with hints of violet, forest floor, and oak spice on the nose. Medium-bodied and rich with a core of red/blackberry fruit, fresh acidity, fine but youthful tannin, great depth and layers, and a long length on the finish.
2019 - Slight reduction opening up to Morello cherry, black plum, and blackcurrant on the nose. Good richness and is fleshy on the palate with a core of black/red fruit, fresh acidity, fine but youthful tannin, and good length on a spicy finish.
