Sancerre Blanc Monoparcelle 538

Fruit from a single parcel (0.44ha) which are the old vines from Les Desmalets, where the soils are of shallow (30cm deep) gravelly Kimmeridgian soil over limestone bedrock. South & southeast facing with an elevation of 260m. Vines are massale selection and are 48 years in age. Wines from this parcel tend to be fuller and only the old vines are used for this cuvée. Vinified and aged on lees in foudres for 18 months. Monoparcelle 538 refers to the cadastral plot number.

Tasting Note: Aromas of lemon, green apple, gooseberry, grapefruit with hints of white flower, crushed stone, fresh herb on the nose. Full and richly textured on the palate with a crunch orchard and citrus core, vibrant acidity, complex and layered, leesy, salty mineral on a lengthy finish.
