Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru

Domaine-Des-Malandes-Vau-de-Vey-R.jpg

Fruit from a 3.5ha holding within Vau de Vey 1er Cru in the western part of Chablis. A cool climate due to a north wind rushing into the valley. Vines average 45 years growing on very steep slopes with soils of Kimmeridgian marl. Fermentation in steel tank and neutral oak barrel and a 10-month maturation in large old oak barrel follows, prior to bottling.

*the climat gets its name from the Latin word “vadum” (damp place or bog)

Tasting Note: Aromas of orange peel, grapefruit, and lemon with hints of white flower, stone mineral, and honey on the nose. Medium body with good richness and intensity, a core of juicy citrus and orchard fruit, crisp acidity, a rounded texture, and good length on a mineral finish.
