Vin Doux Naturel Maury

100% Grenache Noir from vines planted in the 1980s on soils composed of black schists. Traditional Maury vinification but with the use of a traditional Portuguese lagar, to crush the grapes. Fermentation is stopped with the addition of alcohol and the wine is matured in oak barrels on lees for 10 months.

Tasting Note: Aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, fig with warm spices on the nose. Rich and full with juicy black fruit on the palate, medium sweetness balanced by acidity, ripe tannin, warm spices on the lengthy finish. Would pair nicely with chocolate desserts and pies.
