Côtes du Roussillon Villages Couillades d'en Paillol

Paul-Meunier-Couillades-d'en-Paillol.jpg

Mainly Carignan with some Grenache & Syrah from a single vineyard planted in 1950, located in the village of Maury. Couillade is the local dialect for ‘hill top’ and this is 195m above sea level. Aged for 14 months in old oak.

Tasting Note: Aromas of blackberry, black plum, cherry, and raspberry with hints of violets, graphite, green herb, and bitter chocolate on the nose. Rich and juicy on the palate with a blue fruit core, fresh acidity, firm drying tannin, great concentration, spice and earthy notes on the finish.
