Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains

Pinot Noir from the Les Vaucrains 1er Cru, a top site in Nuits Saint Georges. Soils are poor (which the name vaucrains refers to) and are of deep clay with limestone. Grapes are hand-harvested and vatted for 18 days. After fermentation, the wine was matured in oak barrels for 15 months with 30% new oak 

Tasting Note: Aromas of blackberry, cherry with hints of oak spice, violet, earth on the nose. Rich on the palate with good structure, juicy fruit core with earth and mineral, good acidity, fine-grained tannin, good length with a hint of spice on the finish
