Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spätlese

Riesling from the Graacher Himmelreich vineyard which borders the south of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard. Southwest facing and the slope is less steep with deeper soils that act as excellent water reservoirs. Soils consist of weathered grey slate and pockets of blue slate. Wines generally are noted for their racy acidity, pronounced minerality, and different fruit notes. Often are accessible slightly earlier than Wehlner Sonnenuhr.

Tasting Note: 2016 - Aromas of peach, pineapple, mango, Asian pear, lime with hints of flint, honeysuckle, tea on the nose. Great plushness on the palate, the sweet fruit core balanced with spice and mineral notes, great precision, fresh acidity, round texture with a lengthy complex finish. Off-dry/medium dry.

2018 - Aromas of yellow peach, apple jelly, lemon zest, tangerine with honeysuckle, flint and wet stone on the nose. Zesty but suave on the palate, wonderfully balanced sweet & tart fruit core, vibrant acidity, pure, round texture, a long finish with mineral tones showing under the ripe fruit. Off-dry/medium dry.
