Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett

Riesling from a 5ha parcel within the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard. Soils are deep, stony with weathered grey slate on a very steep slope (up to 70% gradient). The vineyard faces an optimal south/southwest exposure. The famous sundial (sonnenuhr = sundial) was built in this vineyard by an ancestor of the Prum family in 1842. Wines generally have a good structure with ripe stone fruit notes, fine mineral, great depth and length.

Tasting Note: 2018 - Aromas of pear, quince, passionfruit with hints of smoke, honeysuckle, wet stone on the nose. Juicy, light and delicate on the palate with a ripe fruit core, silky texture, vibrant acidity, finessed, amazing depth on a long finish. Off-dry.
