Pinot Noir Cuvée Max

Pinot-Noir-Cuvée-Max.jpg

Pinot Noir from the steep slopes in Assmannshausen where vines grow on slate and quartzite soils. Vines are generally mature or older (over 80 years). The 2013 contains grapes from the Grosse Lage (grand cru) Berg Schlossberg and Höllenberg. Each parcel vinified and aged separately, aged in barrique with some new oak. The label is a dedication to the winemaker Max Himstedt.

Tasting Note: Aromas of dark ripe fruit - cherry, blackberry, raspberry with red flowers, spicy, and flint on the nose. Full with a velvet texture on the palate, bright fruity core, good freshness, integrated tannin, layered and complex, and lengthy mineral finish.
