The Daily August Pinot Noir

Pinot-Noir-Daily-August-Kesseler.jpg

Pinot Noir sourced from multiple parcels in the Rheingau with vines generally on steep slopes of loess/clay soils with traces of quartzite and shale. Grapes are destemmed and each parcel vinified separately in steel tanks then matured in oak barrels.

Tasting Note: 2016 - Spicy and fresh; spiced cherry notes from the skins of the grapes. The palate is generous with concentration from the Pinot Noir grapes and is elegant yet lively. On the finish, the intensity provides a lovely bitter ending.

2018 - Aromas of fresh cherry, and blackberry with hints of earth, forest floor, and cinnamon spice on the nose. Rich with deep red fruit on the palate, fresh acidity, well balanced, subtle tannin, good length on the finish with some spice notes.

2019 - Aromas of black cherry, cassis, and raspberry with hints of stone mineral, earth, violets, and oak spice on the nose. Supple with good fruit concentration on the palate, fresh acidity, round texture, fine tannins, and good length on a dry, spicy finish.
