Domaine Perrault-Jadaud/Anne-Cecile Jadaud
Up-and-coming Vouvray producers Anne-Cecile Jadaud and Tanguy Perrault are now available in BC! Anne-Cecile, an oenologist, and Tanguy, a viticulturist, started their project in Vouvray in 2008 where they are based in the commune of Chançay. It was a chance encounter with Jean Penillaut, former winemaker of the now defunct estate of Poniatowski, that Tanguy purchased a press with a commitment to make wine with it. Originally, Tanguy was planning to make cider. The promise was contingent on Jean's sale of half an acre of vineyards near Clos du Bourg to Tanguy and Anne-Cecile.
Currently, they manage 8 hectares across 15 organically managed plots in the Northeastern part of Vouvray with vineyards located in Vouvray, Vernou-sur-Brenne, La Rochière, and Noizay, including vineyards near Clos du Bourg and Bidaudières. Harvest is always done manually, fermentation occurs naturally and slowly in a tank and/or barrel over winter, and the use of SO2 is very limited.
They specialize in Ancestral Method sparkling and both dry and sweet expressions of Chenin Blanc. In addition, Anne-Cecile has a separate line with red wines from Amboise which will be receiving later this year.
