Bodegas Barón
Sanlúcar De Barrameda
Rooted in tradition for over 400 years, Bodegas Barón continues to thrive while respecting established traditions, as well as continuing to innovate. Currently, 10th generation José Rodriguez Carrasco and Juan Luis Rodriguez Carrasco have managed the family estate since 1984. Bodegas Barón owns two vineyards: El Poeda and El Hato. Both are located on hills opposite the mouth of Guadalquivir River on the famous Albariza soils, using only ecological products. The estate maintains a commitment to the future and sustainable development. The cellars are located in the upper quarter of the city, exposed to the breeze of the Atlantic. There are two cellars: Bodegas Molinillos, the eldest that dates back to 1631 and where the 150-year-old soleras are guarded. Second, the larger, modern Bodegas Hato is used for storage and holds 10,000 butts. Since 2014, the Micaela, Xixarito, Soluqua and other products went through a major refresh, creating new soleras for some products or using wines from existing soleras with others. The labels look very nice and are probably the most avant-garde labels you can find in the region.
