Doix Costers De Vinyes Velles

The flagship bottling for Mas Doix. A blend of 55% Cariñena (100-year vines) and 45% Garnacha (80-year vines) from the steep slopes on llicorella soils. Hand harvest and sorted, fermentation in stainless steel with ageing for 16 months in new French oak barrels.

Tasting Note: 2014 - Aromas of blueberry, black plum with violet, graphite, pencil lead on the nose. Pure, full-bodied, and layered on the palate, juicy dark fruit on the palate with notes of mineral, fresh acidity, very fine integrated tannin, an elegantly long, pleasant finish.

2015 - Aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, plum with violet, herb, sweet spices, dark chocolate on the nose. Full, ripe, velvety on the palate, great dark fruit concentration, balanced acidity, finely integrated tannin, long lengthy finish with notes of graphite and herb.
