Sonnenglanz Pinot Gris Grand Cru

Pinot-Gris-Sonnenglanz-Alsace-Grand-Cru-R.jpg

From the southeast facing Sonnenglanz vineyard in Beblenheim at 220-270m altitude. Brown and deep calcareous soil with conglomerates full of limestone pebbles. Vines average 25-45 years. 30% of grapes are affected by botrytis. Fermented and aged on lees in steel tanks until the following September.

Tasting Note: Aromas of ripe pear, dried apricot, yellow plum, nectarine, and lemon with hints of flower, lemon verbena, and spice on the nose. Generous on the palate with a ripe orchard & pitted fruit core, fresh acidity, and a long and textured finish.
