Puligny Montrachet La Truffière 1er Cru

2018 - An extremely wet winter/spring. Two hailstorms in July damaged certain areas, otherwise a hot, dry summer. Picking dates were crucial to preserving acidity. A good harvest in general.

Fruit form a tiny 0.16 parcel within La Truffière 1er Cru, located on a hill close to Blagny. Soils are deep, red clay soils and vines over 55 years. Aging in oak for 10-12 months on lees with 30% new oak.

Tasting Note: Aromas of lemon, pear, apple with notes of orange blossom, menthol, stone mineral on the nose. Great depth and intensity on the palate, medium weight, juicy citrus and mineral notes, crisp acidity, lively, and a long salty mineral finish.
