Saumur Rouge

100% old vine Cabernet Franc from 3 parcels of silty & sandy topsoils over a limestone bedrock on the hill of Brézé. Vines were planted between 1955 and 1957. Entirely destemmed, indigenous yeast ferment in concrete and aged for 12 months in a large tronconique barrel before bottling.

Tasting Note: Aromas of sour red cherry, blackberry, and raspberry with hints of bell pepper, earth, violets, and flint on the nose. Medium bodied with a red/blackberry fruit and earthy core, fresh acidity, fine tannin, very finessed, good length on a mineral & herbal finish.
