Saumur Rouge Les Moulins

Cabernet Franc mainly from the commune of Montreuil-Bellay and some old vines the Brézé hill. Soils are generally clay-limestone over a limestone bedrock. Vines average 7-80 years. Destemmed fruit, indigenous yeast fermentation, maturation in stainless steel. This line of wines was crafted for early drinking and to provide a home for vineyard/parcels that are in conversion to organic.

Tasting Note: A touch reduction opens up to aromas of cherry, blackberry, plum, and raspberry with hints of violets, bell pepper, flint, and forest floor on the nose. Medium-bodied with good fruit concentration on the palate, fresh acidity, powdery tannin, and good length on a mineral finish.
