Pommard Arvelets 1er Cru

Charming wines but complicated year - “summer in spring, spring in summer”, very hot again later in summer with a few days of rain at harvest. Smaller yields in general. Fruit from a south-facing parcel of Les Arvelets with soils notably red in colour with plenty of small stones. Vines average 50 years. Matured in oak for 24 months with 10-20% new.

Tasting Note: Aromas of bright cherry, raspberry with a mushroom earthiness on the nose. Medium-bodied with a round texture, fresh acidity, fine tannin, and hints of red flower and spice on the persistent finish.
