Saumur Puy Notre Dame La Pierre à Feu

Cabernet Franc (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) from 2 parcels in the commune of Puy-Notre-Dame. Vines average 30 years, growing on Jurassic Flint limestone rich in iron oxide. Co-fermentation with indigenous yeast aged in older oak barrels with a further 4 months of maturation in concrete vats.

Tasting Note: Aromas of cherry, blackberry, and black currant with hints of baking spice, green herb, bell pepper, and violets on the nose. Juicy and generous on the palate with a juicy red/black fruited core, fresh acidity, fine chalky youthful tannin, and good length on an earthy finish.
