Saumur Puy Notre Dame Tête de Lard
Cabernet Franc from the commune of Puy-Notre-Dame, growing on clay-limestone soils from the Turonian age. Indigenous yeast ferment with 12 months of maturation in older oak barrels, then a further 4 months in concrete vats.
Tasting Note: Aromas of black plum, cherry, and black currants with clove spice, dirt/earth, and herbs on the nose. Medium-bodied with great red/black fruit concentration, juicy and intense, bright acidity, chalky youthful tannin, and good length on the mineral finish.
