In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise lies Mercurey, where Domaine Lorenzon is located. After extensive work as a cooperage consultant, 3rd generation Bruno Lorenzon, along with his sister Caroline, head the family Domaine and produce wines that are pure, serious and stylish. Their 9ha are farmed organically with vines densely planted and trained higher to maximize sun exposure. Attention to each parcel and each vine is of utmost importance to Bruno as “a great grape is 90% of the work, you have to raise them with minimum intervention and maximum understanding.” Winery work involves whole bunch press for whites and partial stem inclusion for reds with 20-40% new oak. Bruno’s hard work allows the expression of purity and minerality to shine through and makes you rethink the potential of wine from Mercurey.
