Alix de Montille, the original driving force behind this small négociant business started in 2003 with brother Etienne de Montille. The goal: to seek out great (and sustainable) growers throughout Burgundy and create distinctive white wines designed to offer great value at every price point. Now under the label Maison de Montille, the range of terroirs span from Chablis to Pouilly Fuissé. Grapes, (not must), are purchased from growers with a long-term relationship so quality can be managed. Vinification is under the same detail and attention as the Domaine wines. Aged in a mix of 228 & 600-litre oak barrels with little or no battonage. New oak is managed with no more than 20-25% new. The result is wines with great focus, energy, texture & mid-palate, true Domaine quality wines with a Maison name.
