Champ Divin is a charming domaine started by a husband and wife duo, Fabrice and Valerie Closset. Both educated in earth science and agriculture, they travelled the world to work in the sustainable & organic agriculture field. After consulting in the Loire on organic farming for 8 years, they took their passion to Gevingey in Jura to establish Champ Divin in 2008. Quick to convert their 6ha to organics and then to biodynamics, the goal is for the purest grapes through biodynamic agriculture in the Jura terroir, prominent in silty clay and limestone. Primarily cultivating Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Savagnin, grass grows between vines, chemicals banned, and harvests by hand. As former engineers, the winery is well thought out, clean, and purpose-built with stainless tanks for ferments done by natural yeasts and oak barrels for maturation depending on each cuvée. Fabrice and Valerie’s passion for nature and the vine is definitely present in their richly fruit-focused pure, precise wines.
