Domaine Bott-Geyl

Beblenheim

Founded in 1795, Domaine Bott-Geyl has remained within the family through generations. Since taking the helm in 1993, Jean Christophe Bott has worked very hard to create very high-quality, expressive, richly flavoured wines. Currently, at 13ha from Ribeauvillé to Kientzheim, vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically (certified in 2002), with yields reduced and are harvested by hand. The belief is that biodynamics allows the wines to show the best of their terroir. Minimalist methods in the cellar are used, with the use of only native yeasts for fermentation (slow and long ferments — some taking 5 months), maturation on fine lees and no additions of any kind (enzymes, chaptalization, acidification etc.); nature takes its course to reflect terroir and vintage. Among the great wines of Alsace, wines of Domaine Bott-Geyl are deep, fruity, full of elegance and mineral expression.
