Celler Mas Doix
Poboleda, Priorat
The Doix family has been involved in viticulture for over 100 years. In 1998, Josep Maria Doix teamed up with his cousins, Ramon & Valenti Llagostera, to manage and invest in a property and vineyards to establish Celler Mas Doix. Located in Poboleda, the estate is about a 2-hour drive southwest from Barcelona in Priorat. Vineyards span 20ha, where vines grow in the micro-climates formed by the Monsant Mountains, a scenic steep, hilly landscape of schist llicorella soils (black slate & quartz-based). Certified organic viticulture is practiced, with preserving the old, gnarly vines of Garnacha and Cariñena are the main focus, along with small amounts of Cabernet, Merlot, and Syrah also grown. Like a Bordeaux château, there are multiple tiers of wines with their Centenary & Doix labels at the pinnacle, using the estate’s oldest vines - opulent and luxurious, these wines evolve beautifully in the cellar. All wines from Celler Mas Doix are serious Priorat, true to their terroir and rooted in tradition.
